Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)/Bharat Nirman

PMGSY Programme was launched in Jammu and Kashmir during 2001-02 with the aim to provide all-weather connectivity to unconnected habitations in rural areas with population more than 250 as per 2001 Census. Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India has sanctioned 3347 number of schemes under PMGSY-I in 12 Phases with a length of 18432.79 Kms at a cost of Rs. 119646.76 crores to provide connectivity to 2148 eligible habitations.

Under PMGYS-II, 107 schemes were sanctioned with a length of 704.55 Kms at cost of Rs.790.49 crores.

As on date 2113 number of schemes having length of 13233.36 Kms have been completed with expenditure of Rs.7864.60 crores. Out of 2148 eligible habitation, 1943 habitations have been connected so for.

During current year, against the target of 3500 Kms, 2400 Kms have been achieved as on date with expenditure of Rs.1380.00 Crores thereby completing 280 schemes and connected 105 eligible habitations.
